YeonWoo with Vaccine Medical Mission – Palo, Leyte, Philippines

Last January 26-29, 2014,  my team YeonWoo with Vaccine had our Medical Mission for Palo, Leyte, Philippines. A place where one of the devastated areas by typhoon Yolanda (a.k.a. Haiyan). Me and my team from Korea arrived in Cebu at January 26 early morning and went to Tacloban right away by plane.

We were surprised that the situation in Tacloban and in Palo, Leyte were still much the same when me and my team went 2 months ago to give help as well. No electricity and water still and people have to get water in pale. Electricity is only available in establishments with generators and major streets.

Some people walk barefooted. You can see through the pictures that it would be hard for them to live in their temporary houses if a big typhoon will come again. When we conducted our Medical Mission, we saw the large amount of people children and elderly who needs medical attention. The people were very happy knowing that we were there to give medical consultations and free medicines.

I know that what we did was still not enough to reach all other places. But I hope that through this blog, people can still remember and send more medical help to these people.
Me and my team are planning to conduct more help to these places and build educational establishment as well so that their education will continue. We are happy that the Provincial Government of Leyte helped us in coordination with the Eagle Scouts Organization of the Philippines that made our visit even more possible and safe. And most of all, thanks to our brothers and sisters from Korea who volunteered, and to our sponsors.

God bless Leyte! God bless Philippines!!
